European Master Certificate Program in Belgium

I had been asking to myself for a couple of months whether I should pursue or not pursue this great challenge.  Finally, I came to decide to sign up EMC (European Master Certificate Program) Part III in Belgium.  So now, I am in the middle of process of the European Master Certification program by world renowned Belgian floral artist, Tomas De Bruyne.

Our instructor, Tomas De Bruyne is an author of numerous books on floral design and belongs to the Life 3 partnership with Per Benjamin(Sweden) and Max van de Sluis (Netherlands) .  The EMC workshop was facilitated by highly respected Canadian floral artist, world renowned Hitomi Gilliam AIFD, Director of DESIGN 358.   Hitomi & Tomas spent tremendous time to put this curriculum together for floral designers who eager to learn most update European Floral Design.

I feel so lucky being a team designer of DESIGN358 and working closely with world's greatest floral artists.  And if I could achieve this goal "becoming an European Master designer", it would be a big asset for me.  Thank you to Tomas & Hitomi for creating this extraordinary program.  Thank you to my fellow designers for your kind support....and most importantly, thanks to my husband who keep encouraging me and pushed my back very hard to sign up for this program!

Between Valentine's day madness and teaching, I managed to create following pieces for EMC Part II.  It was fun designing with beautiful orchids from my trustworthy supplier, Dalvey Orchids and here's some design photos from my project.  All other student designers' great design is also shown in EMC Facebook page (See link at the bottom) for you to take a look^^

Frosty morning…..

It’s chilly this morning!!
When I went morning walk with my "Four-legged" son,
it was still dark outside, but we saw the ground was covered with
frost.  We looked around and found everything was frosty & so beautiful!
Sure, Mother Nature is the greatest artist.

After awaiting the Sunrise, “we” went out again for another walk.
Good thing is my "son" never say “NO” for a walk:D
Thanks to him, he was very good at waiting (or sniffing?)
while I was taking pictures.

Here’s my album to share with you!

Some late bloomed garden Roses are delicately decorated with frost.

It looked almost “Variegated Salal”?!

…..and of course, my Four-legged Son...

Wasn’t it a nice walk, eh?

Why not?

Did you already put up your TREE ?  It's my favorite time of the year. I love aroma of Evergreen.  My first Christmas in Canada, I was in Banff, AB.  My lovely host family kindly planned taking me to the forest near Canmore for cutting a tree.  That event made me feel real Canadian Holiday spirit.  I always remember that beautiful Rocky Mountains and smell of forest with warm smiles of my host family..

When  "upside down Christmas tree" was introduced in magazine, I wasn't sure I like that idea.  As a Nature loving person, I felt so bad for trees(!).....but many people loved that different look!  O.K., perhaps from  designer's point of view, I could live with it.   Then, I thought what if Holiday wreath was not made in "circle" but "square"..I would say...Why not?

But I didn't want to be disrespectful to real meaning of WREATH   Let's see what Mr. Wiki says.....

The Advent wreath is constructed of evergreens to represent everlasting life brought through Jesus and the circular shape of the wreath represents God, with no beginning and no end. The Advent wreath is now a popular symbol in preparation for the coming of Christ, to mark the beginning of the Christian Church’s year and as décor during the Christmas festivities.                Click here for more info: wikipedia/Wreath

Well, "Square" doesn't have "beginning" or "end" either.... it's acceptable, isn't it?
Here's my "Square" Wreath.....with some Silver Eucalyptus.

It's very simple and not too Christmasy, so could stay on the wall until New Year?

This is cute colour combination, White, Silver & Chocolate.  White Faux fur bow looks very
wintery.

And I really liked this Burgundy, White & Silver
Combination.

Which one is your favorite?
